人民币玩家 (rénmínbìwánjiā): RMB player (whale)

Sarcastic gamer slang. Often abbreviated 人民币战士 (rénmínbì zhànshì, 'RMB warrior') for the same concept. Commonly contrasted with 平民玩家 (píngmín wánjiā, 'commoner / F2P player') and 微氪 (wēikè, 'micro-spender'). Calling someone a 人民币玩家 is half admiring and half mocking.

Vocabulary that came out of Chinese mobile gacha games where SSR character pulls can demand thousands of yuan via the 抽卡 (chōukǎ, gacha) mechanic. The hierarchy: 白嫖党 (báipiáo dǎng, freeloaders) → 微氪 → 中氪 → 重氪 → 人民币玩家 (whales). 氪金 (kèjīn, 'krypton-paying') is the umbrella verb for spending real money.
