grammar

Pattern: number + time/distance + 之内. E.g. 一年之内 (within a year). The 之 can be dropped in casual speech: 三天内.

usage

之内 is more formal/written. In spoken Chinese, 以内 (yǐnèi) is more common with the same meaning.
