有一点儿 + adjective expresses 'a bit (too)' with a slightly negative nuance: 有一点儿贵 'a bit expensive.' But 一点儿 after a verb is neutral: 吃一点儿 'eat a little.'

usage

In southern China and Taiwan, 一点 (yīdiǎn) without the 儿 is standard.
