Amazon's Kindle Chinese store ran from 2013 until June 2023, when Amazon shut it down — leaving a cohort of mainland users with paid libraries that could only be downloaded for one more year. In Chinese tech press the device is sometimes nicknamed 泡面盖 ('instant-noodle lid') for its size and the joke that it ends up holding down 方便面 cup lids.

Almost always written in Latin letters in Chinese text. There is no standard Chinese transliteration; speakers say it as English 'Kindle'.
