In ancient classical texts, 龥 was used in the sense of calling out or earnestly appealing.

Tips

register
龥 is essentially obsolete - an archaic variant of 籲 (traditional) / 吁 (simplified, in the 'appeal' sense), meaning 'to call out, to appeal earnestly'. The modern equivalent is the common compound 呼吁 'to appeal, call upon (the public)' - used routinely in news writing about petitions and public causes. 龥 itself appears only in classical citation, paleographic dictionaries, and the rare specialist Chinese-character lookup.

龥 yù
to call out; to appeal (archaic)
Indexed under Kangxi #214 龠 (a multi-piped bamboo flute) - the smallest of all Kangxi radicals, with only 龥 under it. The right side here is a heavily contracted form of 龠 supplying the sound (yuè → yù, regular shift); the left is 页 (head, the bodily seat of voice) contributing the 'calling out' meaning. The character is essentially obsolete in modern Chinese, replaced by 吁 in the compound 呼吁.

Filed under radical 龠 (yuè, #214) by convention. 龠 is not a separate component in 龥, so no strokes are highlighted.
