Pure TNT is pale yellow — hence the name. In technical contexts you'll also see the loanword 梯恩梯 (Tī'ēntī, transliteration of T-N-T). 黄色 here just refers to the color; do not confuse with 黄色 in the slang sense ('pornographic').
