Decode it as 高 (high/large) + 分子 (molecule) + 化学 (chemistry) = 'large-molecule chemistry'. 高分子 is the standard Chinese rendering of 'macromolecule / polymer' — the same characters appear in 高分子材料 (gāo-fēn-zǐ cái-liào, polymer materials).
mistakes
分子 has two pronunciations: fēn-zǐ = molecule (in chemistry/physics) vs fèn-zǐ = element/member of a group (e.g. 知识分子 zhī-shí fèn-zǐ, intellectual). In 高分子化学 it's always fēn-zǐ.
