Decode it as 高 (high/large) + 分子 (molecule) + 化学 (chemistry) = 'large-molecule chemistry'. 高分子 is the standard Chinese rendering of 'macromolecule / polymer'. The same characters appear in 高分子材料 (polymer materials).
mistakes
分子 has two pronunciations: fēnzǐ = molecule (in chemistry/physics) vs fènzǐ = element/member of a group (e.g. 知识分子, intellectual). In 高分子化学 it's always fēnzǐ.
