Triad boss in the Hong Kong film 无间道 (Infernal Affairs, 2002), played by 曾志伟. He plants his man 刘建明 in the police while the police plant 陈永仁 in his gang.
He is known as 琛哥, 'Brother Sam': in Cantonese 琛 (sam¹) gives the English 'Sam'. In Mandarin it is chēn, although its right-hand part is the one in 深 'deep' and 探 'explore'.
