Huo Yuanjia (1868-1910) was a master of Mizongyi kung fu who became a national hero by publicly defeating foreign fighters at a time when China was humiliated by colonial powers. He founded the Chin Woo Athletic Association in 1910 to promote Chinese martial arts and national pride. His patriotic legacy made him an enduring symbol of Chinese resistance and dignity.
