usage
In speech it is usually just 雄安, a name taken from two of the counties it covers, 雄县 and 安新. 新区 "new area" is its status, as in 浦东新区.
culture
It was planned to take in offices, universities, hospitals and companies moved out of Beijing, and it includes 白洋淀, the largest lake on the North China Plain.
