脑病 is an umbrella term - the cause gets prefixed: 肝性 (hepatic), 缺氧性 (hypoxic), 高血压 (hypertensive), 代谢性 (metabolic). Distinct from 脑炎 (nǎoyán, encephalitis - specifically inflammation) and 脑梗 (stroke).
