米线 and
米粉 (mǐfěn) both refer to rice noodles but differ in texture:
米线 is round and thicker, closely associated with Yunnan cuisine;
米粉 is often flatter or thinner and common in Guangxi, Guangdong, and Fujian. The iconic Yunnan dish
过桥米线 (guòqiáo mǐxiàn) comes with a bowl of piping-hot broth into which raw ingredients are dropped tableside.
