A family of one-pot braises from north China (especially Shanxi, Henan, Hebei and the northeast) — pork belly, cabbage, potato, tofu puffs, vermicelli and meatballs stewed together in a rich broth. Known as
大烩菜 when scaled up for banquets or weddings.
