Founded in the late Qing near Qianmen, Zhengyanglou was nicknamed 'home of crabs and mutton' (
蟹肉羊肉之家). Writers like Lu Xun and Liang Shiqiu described eating there. The original shut down mid-20th century but the name has been revived as a restored restaurant.
