Tips

culture
Du Fu (杜甫) wrote 《曲江二首》 (Two Poems at Qujiang) here in 758. Its line 人生七十古来稀, 'a life of seventy has been rare since ancient times', gave Chinese 古稀 as a word for the age of seventy.
usage
曲 is qū 'winding' here, after the curving water of the lake, not qǔ 'song'. The lake, 曲江池, lies in Xi'an's 曲江新区, around the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda (大雁塔).
