惠子, also known as
惠施 (Huì Shī), was a politician–philosopher of the
名家 (School of Logicians) during the Warring States period. He is mostly remembered through 《
庄子》, which features him sparring with Zhuangzi in famous dialogues like
濠梁之辩 ('the debate on the bridge over the Hao river') about whether one can know that fish are happy.
