In China, 国家开放大学 (Guójiā Kāifàngdàxué, 'Open University of China') is the direct-enrollment distance-learning university under the Ministry of Education, renamed in 2012 from 中央广播电视大学 ('Central Radio and TV University,' 中央电大). Internationally the term refers to the UK's Open University model (1969).
