history
From 《淮南子·诠言训》 (Han): 道者若丘山,嵬然不动 ('the Way is like a hill or mountain, towering and unmoving'). Later written 岿然不动, the image of something mountain-steady is baked in.
mistakes
Read kuī, not guī. 岿 (towering) is a low-frequency character, easy to misread.
