Born in the State of Qi ( Qí guó) but served the State of Wu ( Wú guó) under King Helü ( Hélǘ). Tradition holds he wrote 《孙子兵法》 (Sūnzǐ Bīngfǎ, 'The Art of War') around 500 BCE — 13 chapters that became one of the (Seven Military Classics) and arguably the most influential strategy text in world history.
mistakes
孙武 is the personal name; 孙子 (Sūnzǐ, 'Master Sun') is the honorific. English 'Sun Tzu' is the Wade-Giles romanization of 孙子. All three refer to the same person.
