On Tomb-Sweeping Day we go to the graveyard to tend the graves.

坟地 is the everyday/rural word — feels more like 'old village graveyard'. The neutral modern term is 墓地 (mùdì); 公墓 (gōngmù) is a 'public cemetery'. Note that 坟 (tomb mound) suggests an earthen burial mound rather than a Western-style headstone plot.
