culture
Four-substance decoction, recorded in the Song-dynasty 《太平》, contains four herbs: 当归 (dāngguī, Chinese angelica), (chuānxiōng, Sichuan lovage), 白芍 (báisháo, white peony) and 熟地 (shúdìhuáng, prepared rehmannia). It is the foundation formula for tonifying blood (补血), especially for women's health.
