Engineering term. The compound 减振器 is 'shock absorber' - the part inside a car suspension. Don't confuse with 减震 (also 'shock absorption'); 振 emphasizes oscillation, 震 emphasizes impact, but in everyday Chinese the two are largely interchangeable.
