Founded in 1912 under the new Republic, 中国银行 is the oldest continuously operating bank in mainland China. It is one of the 'Big Four' (四大行) along with ICBC (工商银行), China Construction Bank (建设银行), and Agricultural Bank of China (农业银行).
mistakes
In 中国银行 the character 行 is read háng (second tone), not xíng. 行 means 'firm / business' here, the same reading as in 银行 (bank).
