万福 was a classical Chinese greeting used by women, equivalent to a bow and blessing. It survives today mainly in historical dramas and literature. It also appears in
万福玛丽亚 (Ave Maria / Hail Mary), the Catholic prayer, where
万福 translates the Latin 'Ave' (hail/greetings).
