Chinese rendering of the Korean term 丁卯胡亂 (정묘호란). 丁卯 marks the year 1627 in the sexagenary cycle; 胡乱 means "barbarian disturbance" — the Joseon-Korean view of the Later Jin (later Qing) Manchu invasion. A second, larger invasion in 1636 is called 丙子胡乱 (Bǐngzǐ Húluàn).
