history

Founded《新青年》in 1915, which became the intellectual engine of the May Fourth Movement. Co-founded the CCP with Li Dazhao in 1921 and served as its first General Secretary, but was expelled in 1929 for Trotskyist sympathies. Died in poverty in wartime Sichuan.
