Tips

history
From Wang Bo 王勃's 《滕王阁序》 (Tang dynasty): the sunset glow flies with the lone wild duck; the autumn water shares one color with the long sky. Composed in a single sitting when the poet was still in his early twenties, it is the most celebrated parallel couplet in Chinese prose-poetry.
usage
(wild duck) is commonly misread as wú. The line is almost always quoted together with 秋水共长天一色.
