群组 (qúnzǔ): chat group

群组 is the formal/UI label seen in app menus ('Create Group'). In everyday speech, people just say 群 (qún) — 微信群 (WeChat group), 工作群 (work group), 同学群 (classmate group). 群组 sounds slightly stiff in chat.

WeChat groups are the workhorse of Chinese digital social life — family groups (家庭群), work groups, parent groups for school (家长群), neighborhood building groups (业主群). Many Chinese adults belong to dozens. 群通知 (group notification) etiquette is its own cultural skill.
