Bai Lu took her stage name from the auspicious white deer (白鹿) of Chinese folklore — a mount of immortals, so perfectly fitted to her xianxia-drama career. She crossed into A-list with 周生如故 (2021) and 长月烬明 (2023).

Not to be confused with 白鹿洞 (Bailu Cave, a Song-era academy) or the Shaanxi novel/TV series 白鹿原 (White Deer Plain) — both use the same characters but are unrelated to the actress.
