Tips

history
Founded in Tianjin around 1858 by Gao Guiyou (高贵友), whose childhood nickname was 狗子 ('Puppy'). He was so busy steaming buns that he had no time to greet customers, so people joked 狗子卖包子,不理人, 'Puppy sells buns and ignores everyone.' The nickname stuck and became the brand.
