From 陶渊明《桃花源记》 (Record of the Peach Blossom Spring, ca. 421 CE). When the fisherman emerges through the cave into the hidden valley: 土地平旷，屋舍俨然，有良田美池桑竹之属。阡陌交通，鸡犬相闻 (The land was flat and broad, the houses neat and orderly; there were good fields, fair ponds, mulberry and bamboo, and the like. Paths crossed in every direction, and the sounds of chickens and dogs carried back and forth). Founding text of the Chinese utopian tradition; every 'peach-blossom land' (世外桃源) reference in later literature goes back here.
usage
之属 is a classical 'and the like' enumeration suffix; the catalog is open-ended. Quoted as shorthand for the Taohuayuan ideal: self-sufficient, quiet, untouched by state and war.
