A specific leave category in Chinese labor law, rooted in the 1981 《关于职工探亲待遇的规定》. Designed for workers stationed far from parents or spouse - a relic of the Mao-era planned-economy job assignment system. Many private companies don't offer it in practice, but it remains on the books for SOE and civil-service workers.
