Tips

history
One of the 六部 (Six Ministries) under the central government from the Tang through the Qing. 户部 oversaw 户籍 (household registration), 田赋 (land tax), 财政 (public finances), and the salt and grain monopolies. Renamed from the Sui-dynasty 民部 under Tang Gaozong to avoid the taboo character in Emperor Taizong's name 李世民.
culture
Standard furniture in Qing palace dramas - characters get appointed 户部尚书 (Minister of Revenue) as a sign of imperial trust, since whoever runs the treasury runs the empire.
