Named after 念奴, a famous singer at the court of the Tang emperor Xuanzong. A long pattern of 100 characters, it suits heroic themes, and after the poem by 苏轼 it is also called 大江东去 or 酹江月, from his first and last lines. 毛泽东 used it for 《念奴娇·昆仑》 (1935).
