德州市

Northwestern Shandong city on the Grand Canal and the Beijing-Shanghai railway. Best known nationally for 德州扒鸡 (Dezhou braised chicken), one of China's three most famous cooked-chicken dishes and a classic train-platform snack. The Tomb of Sultan Paduka Pahala of Sulu (苏禄东王墓), who died here on a 1417 tribute mission, is a reminder of Ming maritime diplomacy.
