天府之国 ('land of abundance') is the classical name for the Chengdu Plain. 诸葛亮 used it in the Longzhong Plan (隆中对) c. 207 CE. Modern Chengdu reuses the name everywhere: Tianfu New Area, Tianfu Square, Tianfu International Airport.
