Tips

culture
In classical Chinese by itself meant the Yangtze (and meant the Yellow River). 大江 therefore almost always refers poetically to the Yangtze — as in Su Shi's 《·怀》opening line 大江 ('The great river flows east'), one of the most quoted lines in Song poetry.
