塔吉克族 (Tǎjíkè zú, Tajik people) are linguistically Iranian (Pamiri), unlike most other Tajiks elsewhere who speak Persian dialects. They are concentrated in
塔什库尔干 (Tǎshíkù'ěrgān, Tashkurgan) county on the Pamir Plateau, near the borders with Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
