China's Tajiks live mostly in
塔什库尔干 on the Pamir plateau in Xinjiang. Their languages, Sarikoli and Wakhi, are Eastern Iranian and differ from the Persian-related Tajik spoken in Tajikistan. The eagle is their emblem, celebrated in their eagle dance and their flute made from an eagle's wing bone.
