《说文》: '埙, 乐器也，以土为之，六孔' — a clay wind instrument with six holes, attested in 《周礼》 and 《诗经》. Typically egg-shaped and fingered like an ocarina; archaeological xun have been excavated from Neolithic Hemudu sites, making it at least 7,000 years old.
