Part of the palace collection was moved from Beijing to Taiwan in 1948 and 1949 and is kept here. To tell it apart from Beijing's 故宫博物院, people call it the Taipei Palace Museum, 台北故宫. Its best-known pieces include the Jadeite Cabbage, 翠玉白菜, and the Meat-shaped Stone, 肉形石.
