history
Formed 1988 in Beijing, considered the founding act of Chinese heavy metal. Original lineup: Ding Wu (丁武, vocals), Zhang Ju (张炬, bass), Liu Yijun (刘义军 / 老五, guitar), Zhao Nian (赵年, drums). Their 1992 debut 《梦回唐朝》 fused traditional Chinese imagery with Western metal and sold over a million copies. Bassist Zhang Ju died in a motorcycle accident in 1995, a loss the band and the scene still mark annually.
