usage
Same word as 哀号 (āiháo) and largely interchangeable. 哀嚎 (with 嚎 'to howl') leans toward animal-like, drawn-out howling; 哀号 (with 号 'to cry out') is slightly more formal. Stronger and more visceral than 哭 (kū, just 'to cry').
