印随 (lit. "imprint-follow") is the Chinese term for filial imprinting, systematically studied by Austrian ethologist Konrad Lorenz in the 1930s. His geese imprinting on him instead of their mother is the iconic image of the concept - it earned him the 1973 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
