usage
传阅 is the standard term for the office/admin practice of circulating a document for everyone to read in turn. Common in stamps and notes on Chinese internal documents: 请传阅 ('please pass around'). For modern email, 抄送 ('cc') has largely replaced it.
memory
传 'pass on' + 阅 'read/peruse' → 'pass-on read' = pass around for reading. The same 传 is in 传递 'pass/transmit', and 阅 is in 阅读 'to read'.
