白族 ceremony from Yunnan with three successive cups:
一苦 (bitter baked green tea),
二甜 (sweet, with brown sugar, walnut and dairy skin),
三回味 (spiced — honey, pepper, ginger, cinnamon). The three flavors are read as a metaphor for a human life: hard work, then reward, then reflection.
