On 27 April 1911 (lunar 3rd month, 29th day), revolutionaries led by 黄兴 (Huáng Xīng) attacked the Qing viceroy's office in Guangzhou. The uprising failed and 86 bodies were eventually identified, but only 72 were initially recovered and buried together at (Huánghuāgǎng, 'Yellow Flower Hill'). The event galvanized public support for the 辛亥革命 (Xīnhài Gémìng, 1911 Revolution) months later.
