Natural flavor compound found in malted grain, baked bread crust, and roasted coffee. Adds a warm, sweet, caramel-cotton-candy note. Used as a flavor enhancer in breads, cakes, and soft drinks. E number: no official E code, but GRAS in most jurisdictions.
