Resultative compound: 领 (lead / collect) + 走 (away). 领 alone often means 'to receive / claim' (领奖, 领工资). With 走, the 'taking-away' direction becomes explicit. Compare 领回 (lǐnghuí - claim back), 领来 (lǐnglái - bring over here).
