usage
Almost always the first half of a longer name: 青藏高原 (the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the 'roof of the world'), 青藏铁路 (the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, opened in 2006 and the highest in the world) and 青藏公路 (the highway from Xining to Lhasa).
mistakes
青 is short for 青海 and 藏 for 西藏. Here 藏 is read zàng, as in Tibet, not cáng 'to hide'.
